Who are we?
We're seasoned gardeners, with the theory under our belts and the soil under our fingernails. And we're passionate about helping others to create a garden to enjoy, instead of seeing it as a problem.
We've put our ideas into practice in plenty of gardens, having started our garden design, landscaping and maintenance service in 1985. Since then we've designed and given makeovers to numerous types of gardens, including our own (in Cheshire) that we turned into a low maintenance haven for wildlife. The visiting birds, bees, frogs, newts, hedgehogs and butterflies seem to enjoy the facilities - and we do too.
When we learnt about practical gardening at college (where we gained City & Guild's and RHS certificates), we discovered the basic principles that make it all so much easier and much more enjoyable. This is what we've shared via magazines, giving readers the rundown on gardening know-how, but the Internet means a wider readership and the opportunity for electronic conversations too, so we can all tap into the vast pool of gardening knowledge and expertise that's out there. So our Gardening Masterclass website, blog and forum are there to help all gardeners. After all, it's not for nothing that ordinary British gardeners are held in awe by the rest of the world for their achievements around their homes.
